New Boys Fabric by Laura Ashley

SHIP AHOY SAILOR BOY!

Those lovely designers at Laura Ashley have come up with this jolly nautical design. My tickety-boo head immedietely thought how nice the boat clock or name plaque would look in a Laura Ashley boys bedroom. The fabric is 100% cotton. It has matching bedding and curtain fabrics. The fabric is called "On the Sea", and is now in season.Lovely!

Salad Days!

I'm pretty chuffed with this years veg patch offerings. Amused to see a cucumber making it's way down from the roof top veg patch. You don't expect to see a cucumber dangling infront of your window! It's been lovely popping up onto the roof to pick aubergine, courgettes and herbs to make a ratatouilles. We have a pumpkin patch , adding an exciting orange glow amongst the greenery. Trouble is, I could sit up there for most of the afternoon with a cup of tea. Am working on some new designs, ready for Christmas. I do love my studio. Nice to know things are growing above my head as I am working. That's all for now xx

SCULPTURE EXHIBITION

"Heart, Head and Hands"

27th June to 19th Sept.

entrance free

Sixty-three exhibits by internationally acclaimed artists at the University of Leicester Botanical Gardens.

I had a lovely time in the Botanical gardens last Friday. I'm alittle down in the dumps, with my children and partner all going back to school. I was need of alittle inspiration.I love sitting in my studio painting, however, not on Friday afternoon! Therefore,I grabbed my bike and headed down to the gardens. The sculpture in set in beautiful surroundings. I thought it worked really well. I confess that most of the work was not my cup of tea, however, I just enjoyed the looking! If you know what I mean.

If your Leicester based, then I would highly recommend a visit! You never know what will be round the corner, behind a tree or down a path.

A spot of lunch in the Italian garden and I was ready to go home. Look sharp Beetham-Davies!

I do like to be by the seaside, especially one with a carnival. I had lots of fun with my family on a much needed break. GOOD. I am ready to get back into the studio, turn the radio on and knuckle down. I feel like this is the start of a new term for tickety-boo. I am buzzing with idea's.The order inbox is very full.Couldn't quite rid myself of my old pinnie,I'm too fond of it. It'll do another season. I hope all my lovely customers had wonderful days for their Wedding,Christenings, and new arrivals. Thank you once again for your lovely comments about received clocks and boxes. It's the icing onthe cake!

Twits Rule
It's been a hot one this week. I have had to resort to plugging in the fan to cool off. I'll make up for it (carbon wise)somehow.I have been throughly entertained by Mr Dahl. I love to listen to audio books whilst I paint away. I love The Twits. Still laugh heartily as Mrs Twit thinks she shrinking. I was given the book by a very good friend. I was 21!(ahem).Still, I shall pass on twit love to my children. Hmmm, what to listen to next week......Happy Week end dear reader.

This little room is my studio. It is the nerve centre of tickety-boo. Mug of tea steaming away on the sill, my little radio keeping me upto date with the world, and a line of order cards to paint my way through. I do love my studio. The only interuption being calls from my lovely customers...............
